BREMERTON – An 18-year-old Olympic College student was one of four people who were killed at a rural Belfair residence Feb. 26.

Tory Carlson, 18, was identified by the Mason County Chief Deputy Coronor as one of the four victims. He studied culinary arts at Olympic College in Bremerton.

“Tory was an amazing person. He was an aspiring chef that wanted nothing more than to go to work for himself to help provide for his family,” wrote Marlene Gouveia in an email message to the Patriot. She went to school with Tory.

“He has a kind soul and made friends with everyone he came in contact with. We (were) in culinary arts together, working towards our degrees. We sat together in our writing class at OC. Going back to class Tuesday won’t be the same. He would have graduated this June.”

The coroner identified the other victims as Lana J. Carlson, 49 and Quinn Carlson, 16, according to the Seattle Times. The identity of the fourth victim, a neighbor, will be released once relatives are notified. The shooter was David Wayne Campbell, 51, who had later used his own gun to kill himself. The coroner said Campbell and Lana J. Carlson were married.

The incident happened in the 300 block of NE Horseshoe Drive, about 20 miles west of Bremerton.
