A 26 year-old Bremerton man is in-custody following an early morning exchange of gunfire in East Bremerton. No one was injured in the shooting.

A Bremerton man, 26, was arrested following an early morning exchange of gunfire on Saturday morning, according to a Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office release.

No one was injured in the shooting.

KCSO deputies responded to Park Place Apartments on NE Brookdale Lane concerning multiple 911 reports of numerous gunshots fired in the parking lot of the apartment building. The complex is located adjacent to the intersection of NE Fairgrounds Road and Central Valley Road NE.

The first call regarding the gunshots came in around 2:52 a.m. According to the KCSO report, several individuals–both male and female–were involved and that the “shooting was preceded by a loud argument.”

Deputies spoke with a 31-year-old male resident who claimed he had been involved in the shooting. His weapons, including a handgun and a revolver, were handed over to deputies.

Initial reports of the incident include information that both shooters knew each other, and that the dispute was related to “domestic issues.” The 26-year-old man who was arrested was “highly intoxicated.”

Deputies tracked down a car that left the residence, and the female driver admitted to leaving the scene with one of the shooting suspects and others. She dropped off her passengers nearby, states the report. A K-9 team took to the scene to track the suspect. The male was found in the 3200 block of Halverson Avenue in E. Bremerton.

The man was arrested just before 8 a.m. and is a known convicted felon. He was booked into Kitsap County Jail on the following charges: assault, 1st degree; unlawful possession of a firearm, and for Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act: possession of cocaine. Bail was set at $350,000.

The investigation continues. Those with information concerning this incident are asked to contact Detective Lori Blankenship at 360-337-5615. Reference report K14-002293.
