POULSBO — An 82-year-old Poulsbo man and his 13-year-old female passenger were sent to Harrison Medical Center after a two-car collision at State Route 305 and Johnson Road Tuesday evening, according to Washington State Patrol.

The collision was reported at 5:57 p.m., and Suquamish Police, Washington State Patrol and Poulsbo Fire responded to the scene. The 82-year-old, driving a 2009 Toyota Yaris, went to turn left from Johnson Road onto northbound SR 305 and hit a 2002 GMC Yukon driving in the southbound lane, according to State Patrol spokesman Trooper Russ Winger.

The 82-year-old suffered a possible broken leg and rib injuries, and Winger said the 13-year-old was sent along as a precaution, but had no signs of injuries.

The driver of the Yukon, a 65-year-old Kingston man, was not injured. The 82-year-old was cited for failure to yield.

Traffic was affected for about 45 minutes while the cars were towed, Winger said.
