KINGSTON — Look no further — Feb. 26 will be the night that has “all the answers.” At least as far as the Little City by the Sea is concerned.

“The One With All The Answers” is the theme of this year’s Kingston Town Meeting, which will boast more than 25 county and state agencies, community groups and non-profit organizations. Members will be answering questions and providing information about the latest happenings in the area.

The event, sponsored by the Kingston Citizens Advisory Committee, will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 in the commons area of Kingston Junior High. County Commissioner Chris Endresen will give a short introduction.

Organizations such as North Kitsap School District, Kitsap County Parks and Recreation, Kingston Parks Trails and Open Space committee, the Port of Kingston and other various groups will be on hand to answer questions about current and future developments and activities.

The Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management will also be providing the latest information regarding the Dec. 30 spill that affected the shores of Jefferson Head and Indianola.

Several of the groups, such as the Kingston Parks Trails and Open Space committee, will also be looking for input from citizens about places to hike and bike. Commissioners from the Port of Kingston will be seeking comments regarding new redevelopment plans and passenger-only ferries.

Endresen said it’s one of her favorite events of the year because it gives residents a chance to learn first hand about issues without having to sit through meetings and public hearings.

“It gives the people the opportunity to ask questions one-on-one about issues they are concerned with,” she said.

Co-organizer Greg Platz agreed.

“It really gives people almost one-stop shopping to get all their questions answered about things going on in Kingston,” Platz said. “It gives people a chance to ask one-on-one questions — no one has to stand up in a crowd and ask a question.”
