Haven’t these last few months been interesting, weather-wise? Some really hot days followed by really cool (for summer) days, followed by high humidity on other days.
We are lucky here in Hansville. We get to enjoy a breeze (most of the time) and more sunshine than other parts of our state, or even our peninsula. Even the day of our annual Hansville Rummage Sale was nice. Not hot or rainy, but just overcast and shirt-sleeve weather. A perfect day for shopping.
Have you considered this?: Living in Hansville gives all of us a wide variety of activities to participate in. You can choose to be really active or semi-active, or just take a walk and probably meet a neighbor or two also out walking.
If you choose to be more interactive, you can join several groups. If your interest is in helping others, consider joining the Hansville Helping Hands. If your interest runs toward sailing or fishing, you could join the Coon Bay Sailing Club or North Kitsap Puget Sound Anglers. You could get some exercise by line dancing, or you could bring your project and join the Need to Knit ladies.
You could attend the Driftwood Key Potluck or the Neighbors Luncheon at the Greater Hansville Community Center. You could join the yoga or tai chi group, go to the Little Boston Library and play Mahjong or join the book reading group or the craft group or art class.
You could put your name on a substitute list for one of the many bridge groups in our area and maybe join one of them. If you like to write, consider joining the Hansville Writers Group.
In our little bit of paradise, there are so many ways to keep your mind and body active. There’s no reason to be bored — unless, of course, you want to be.
In my world, September starts the new year of bridge playing, the restart of the Hansville Writers Group and so many more things I’m wishing I was 40 years younger (not really).
Here in Hansville, I’m one of the many retirees who enjoys life by interacting. So when you see me out and about, say hello. I like meeting new people and seeing all my old friends.
