Some 900 customers in Seabeck lost their power Tuesday just before 1 p.m. It was restored about an hour and a half later.
According to Puget Sound Energy, a recloser opened in the area, shutting down power along a portion of its line. A recloser is essentially a big circuit breaker, said PSE spokesperson Linda Streissguth. Like in a house, certain things can cause the recloser to trip and shut down the line to prevent a fuse from blowing.
A technician was dispatched to inspect the recloser and the line to determine if any damage had been done. The line was clear of damage, PSE said.
Later Tuesday afternoon some 60 residents in Ilahee lost power when a tree or large branch fell across the line. Shortly after five 5 p.m. a different spokesperson with PSE said he expected that outage would be cleared up shortly.
