POULSBO — Educators across Kitsap County were recognized on Tuesday, March 20, at Poulsbo City Hall for their exceptional work in shaping the minds of tomorrow.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Key Women Educators recognized 21 teachers from Kitsap County during the Outstanding Educator Awards Ceremony. In addition to the outstanding educator awards, Alisa Mitchell and Anne Willhoit were recognized as DKG scholarship recipients
Poulsbo Mayor Becky Erickson was on hand to acknowledge the achievements of the outstanding educators, and took a moment to share her thanks to the individuals who have dedicated their lives to teaching youngsters.
“Thank you teachers, I wonder what our world would be like without you, pretty scary place,” Erickson said. “You take the most precious things that we have as parents, our children, and mold them into — we hope — upstanding citizens in our community.”
“You give them hope, you play, you inspire to their dreams, you go in everyday and do the hard work. It is hard work what you do, I am amazed at your durability and your patience and your thoughtfulness for our children and for the parents too at times. [I’m] deeply appreciative of everything that you do.”
The honorees from North Kitsap School District were:
Diana Aber; Eddie Flores; Cheryl Foreman; Michele Good; Bis Halady; Hank Hayden; Melissa Knodel; Kelly Krantz; Stacy Loverich; Barbara Messinger; Dina Olivencia; and Maria Rallos.
