Kitsap Audubon welcomes members of the public to its upcoming meeting. The meeting will feature a talk given by Pacific Northwest photographer and writer, Alan Bauer.

The society’s next meeting will take place Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013. The meeting will run from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Poulsbo Library lower level.

“Natural history of the Pacific Northwest” is the theme of Bauer’s presentation. He is a professional photographer specializing in the natural history of the Pacific Northwest and local history.

Bauer will share experiences and photographs from work on his five hiking guidebooks.

“Hiking thousands of miles in almost all corners of Washington State over the past eight years certainly offered Alan his share of magnificent bird, wildlife and landscape photography opportunities in areas ranging rom the shrub steppe of the Columbia Basin all the way up to the tundra-like alpine settings of the high Cascades,” said a Kitsap Audubon press release.
