Patricia L. Foote died in her home on Nov. 6, 2008. The Port Orchard resident was 68.
She was born in Shelton on June 11, 1940 to Duane and Evelyn (Heyer) Ryan. She married David L. Foote in Hastings, Mich. on Aug. 25, 1975.
Patricia graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma in 1958 and received an associate’s degree in child development from Grand Valley State College in Grand Rapids, Mich. in 1981. She worked as a child care administrator in various places until her retirement in 2000. She was a devoted naval officer’s wife from 1975 until 1996. She is a past member of Kiwanis of Bremerton and the Presbyterian Church; past president of ROWA and member and past Grand Ya-Ya of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.
Patricia enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was an avid reader and master gardner, but mostly a loving wife and guardian angel.
She is survived by her loving husband David; sons John (Kate) Johnson Jr. of Temecula, Calif., Cash (Natalie) Smallwood of Pasco, Christopher (Cristy) Foote of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Matthew Foote of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters Eve (Mark) Brothers of Hartland, Wis., Janet (Carter) Crandall of Hertford, N.C.; brothers Mike and Danny Ryan of Port Orchard and Tom Ryan of Puyallup; sisters Cathie Locicero of New Mexico, Lura (Larry) Sheahan of Steilacoom and Shauna Peterson of Tacoma; grandchildren Brynn and Narina Brothers, Taylor Johnson, Connor Crandall, Haley and Tegan Smallwood and Gillian Foote.
A celebration of life was Nov. 12 at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Memorial donations may be made in her name to United Way or a favorite charity. An online guestbook is available at www.rill.com.
