A Port Orchard woman working at a Bremerton bank received death threats on her work phone last week from a man posing as a pharmacy worker.
The 33-year-old woman received a call from a number that Bremerton Police later determined was part of a pharmacy scam. A male with an “Asian accent” told her she needed to refill a prescription, even though she had not taken prescription medication in years, according to police reports.
When the woman said he had the wrong number, the man grew irate, saying, “I will follow you and you won’t even make it home” and hanging up. He called a second time minutes later, adding, “I’m going to come to your work, follow you home, rape you and kill you.”
The woman’s husband called the man, who told her husband, “Your wife’s going to die.”
When police attempted to call the man twice, he refused to give his name or the company he worked for and hung up the phone.
There were no leads on the identity of the caller.
