Plan ahead for night closures of SR 302 Purdy Spit

Beginning July 24, drivers who use the Purdy Spit on State Route 302 will encounter five total night closures of the bridge across the waterway.

PURDY – Beginning July 24, drivers who use the Purdy Spit on State Route 302 will encounter five total night closures of the bridge across the waterway.

During the closures, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repair a segment of rock bulkhead that was damaged by severe weather and high tides a few years ago.

During the night closures, drivers will follow a signed detour approximately 3-miles long  that uses 94th Avenue Northwest, Southeast Pine Road, and Bethel Burley Road Southeast.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and give themselves extra time to reach their destinations.  The closures are scheduled as shown below.

Purdy Spit closure schedule:

9 p.m. Thursday, July 24 to 5 a.m. Friday July 25

9 p.m. Monday, July 28 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 29

9 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 30

9 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, to 5 a.m. Thursday, July 31

9 p.m. Thursday, July 31 to 5 a.m. Friday, August 1
