PO man charged with indecent liberties, burglary

A 67-year-old Port Orchard man was in Kitsap County Superior Court Jan. 26 charged with indecent liberties and first-degree burglary.

Bail was set at $100,000. If the convicted maximum sentence is 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine on each charge.

On Jan. 24 at around 7:45 p.m. a man called police concerned that a friend may have been sexually assaulted at a motel on Kitsap Way in Bremerton.

Police contacted the victim, who said she had gone to the front desk and was followed when she returned to her room. She told the man to leave, but instead involved her in a sexual offense, court papers say. The reporting party then chased the suspect from the room.

Since he entered the room without consent he was charged with burglary. Since he had sexual contact with a woman unable to give consent because of a mental disability he was charged with indecent liberties, documents say.
