Just lying around

A deputy responded to the 10800 block of NW Holly Road in Central Kitsap at 5:45 p.m. April 9 to a report of a man standing in traffic. People reported the man appeared to be “out of it,” standing in the roadway and vomiting.

The deputy arrived and saw the 24-year-old lying on his left side and being held down by two citizens. The man was conscious, breathing normally but unresponsive to questioning. There were no signs of head or other trauma and no evidence of violence.

The deputy identified the man through his driver’s license and military identification card, so he advised Cencom to inform Naval Base Kitsap of the man’s condition and Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue transported him to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for further medical evaluation.

The motor oil

A deputy responded to a malicious mischief call at about 9:30 a.m. April 12 in the 900 block of Withers Place NW in East Bremerton.

The 28-year-old victim said some time between 8 p.m. the previous evening and 7:45 a.m. that morning someone poured motor oil on her vehicle. The oil covered most of the vehicle’s exterior. She said she has not had any disagreements with anyone and didn’t know who would have poured oil on her car.

The woman pointed out a one-gallon plastic milk jug lying at the edge of her driveway that contained a small amount of motor oil and was possibly left behind by the suspect.

The woman later called the deputy and told him she went to a local car wash and was told the car wash could not remove the oil. She also contacted a local Toyota dealership and was advised to wash as much of the oil off as possible using dish soap. The woman also checked the engine compartment of the vehicle and found the oil had run into the compartment and coated the exterior of the engine. The dealership told her it needed to be cleaned and she should not drive the vehicle. The woman said the damage would most likely exceed $250.

There is no suspect information at this time.
