Shout, shout, let it all out
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a complaint regarding a verbal dispute in the 500 block of NW Fairwood Way in Central Kitsap at about 4:15 a.m. Oct. 12. The caller said he could hear two males arguing loudly.
Two deputies arrived and could hear the men yelling from two houses away. They contacted the 31-year-old man and his 34-year-old friend who both appeared intoxicated. The 31-year-old said they weren’t arguing about anything.
A deputy told the two men to stay inside and keep their voices down. He explained they received a noise complaint and the 31-year-old said he was going to get a party permit for Friday and Saturday nights for the next three years and, “Raise hell and yell and scream as much as we want.”
The deputies left and parked down the road. They heard the men go outside and start yelling for their dog and yelling about their neighbors calling the police. Deputies returned to the house and again told them to quiet down.
About 15 minutes later, police received two more calls about the men yelling. The deputies returned and again could hear the men yelling from three houses away. They told the men to go inside several times and they eventually complied.
As the deputies walked away, the front door of the house opened and the 34-year-old said, “Good, they’re gone.” The two men went back outside and started yelling again.
The deputies issued both men criminal citations for violation of the county noise ordinance with a set date to appear in district court.
As the deputies left, the men went inside and started yelling again. Deputies then heard things being smashed inside the home and requested backup.
The deputies told the men they had to quiet down because the next time they came to the home they would be taken to jail.
The men asked if they could go to bed and they did. Deputies left the home shortly after 6 a.m.
Green-eyed jealousy monster
A sheriff’s deputy responded to the Horse and Cow Bar & Grill on Northlake Way in Central Kitsap at 12:30 a.m. Oct. 12 regarding a report of two males fighting in the parking lot. The suspect was seen driving off.
The 29-year-old victim said he pulled into the parking lot and shortly after parking, the 33-year-old suspect opened the vehicle’s door and started hitting him.
The deputy spoke to the suspect’s ex-girlfriend who witnessed the assault. She said she and the victim were only friends, but the suspect thought she was cheating on him. She added that the 33-year-old man had been looking for the victim.
A Bremerton Police officer stopped the suspect’s car on Kitsap Way and the deputy drove there to contact the suspect. The 33-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail for fourth-degree assault. He is serving a sentence.
There’s no stopping him
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-car collision on Central Valley Road NE and NE Conifer Drive in East Bremerton shortly before 4 p.m. Oct. 14. The suspect driver reportedly appeared intoxicated and fled the scene.
A deputy quickly located the 49-year-old Central Kitsap man lying in bushes on Conifer Drive.
The 50-year-old victim said she was stopped southbound on Central Valley Road waiting to make a left turn when her vehicle was struck from behind. She said her neck and back hurt, so she was transported to the hospital.
A witness said the man asked him to open the car door and he told the suspect to stay put. But the suspect refused and said, “Don’t try to stop me, man!” He got out of the passenger side door and fled.
The man was arrested and booked into jail for hit and run, fourth-degree assault, DUI and an outstanding warrant. His bail is set at $50,000.
Shoplifting for ecstasy
A sheriff’s deputy responded to Sears in Kitsap Mall shortly before 5 p.m. Oct. 10 for a report of two teens shoplifting more than $800 worth of merchandise.
Sears security guards had the 17-year-old East Bremerton and 14-year-old Silverdale girls in custody. The security guard said the teens stole 26 Blue-ray Disc DVDs valued at nearly $850. The security guards said they watched the teens take the DVDs, go to another part of the store and put the DVDs in their backpacks.
The deputy searched the teens’ backpacks and found three baby pacifiers. Both teens admitted stealing the DVDs and when asked what the pacifiers were for, one girl said it was common for people who use ecstasy to have a pacifier to keep from grinding their teeth.
Both teens admitted they intended to sell the DVDs to FYE in Silverdale and use the cash to buy ecstasy.
They were arrested and booked into juvenile detention for second-degree theft and conspiracy to traffic in stolen property.
Bridal party blues
A woman called police Oct. 13 to report a theft that occurred at the Kitsap Golf and Country Club in Central Kitsap.
The 26-year-old woman said she attended a wedding at the golf club Oct. 11 and was a member of the bridal party. The bridesmaids used the women’s locker room to change clothes and store their personal belongings during the wedding.
When the women went upstairs to join the other wedding guests, the locker room was left unlocked. A few hours later they returned and discovered some of their belongings were missing or had been rifled through.
The 26-year-old woman was missing a black wool coat, Nikon camera and sunglasses. A 29-year-old woman was missing a bottle of prescription medication and her cell phone. A 25-year-old woman was missing her black Coach wallet, which contained 10 credit cards and a digital Kodak camera.
