‘It’s in my bra!’

A deputy stopped a car traveling northbound on Silverdale Way at 2:30 p.m. March 15 when he noticed a driver’s side mirror was broken. The deputy smelled marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle.

The deputy told the 42-year-old Poulsbo man to exit the vehicle. He said there was “just a small bud” under the driver’s seat. He added that the 45-year-old Poulsbo woman in the passenger seat would try and protect him and say the marijuana belonged to her, but it didn’t.

The deputy was unable to find marijuana in the vehicle and asked the woman if she knew where it was. She began crying and said, “It’s in my bra!”

Another deputy searched the woman and found a baggie of marijuana stuffed inside her bra. She said the man bought it earlier in the day in Poulsbo and told her to hide it in her bra when he noticed a police officer was behind him.

The woman was arrested and booked into jail for violation of the Uniformed Controlled Substance Act: possession of marijuana. Both were later released.

Making a home

at Home Depot

A deputy responded to Home Depot in Silverdale at about 5:45 a.m. March 20 for a report of a man found inside the store.

The store manager told the deputy the 42-year-old Kingston man was found in the store that morning sleeping between items in the rafters on the ground level. He suspected the man got in the store the night before before they closed and had been sleeping inside all night. The man was found in the store, hiding between items, a previous night and the front desk clerk said the man was kicked out of one of the sheds in the parking lot recently. In every case, the man was drinking and had alcohol around him. The manager said it didn’t appear the man damaged or stole anything.

The man told the deputy he was just trying to stay warm and didn’t mean any harm. He said he came in the store the night before and knew they were closed, but stayed anyway.

The deputy told the man he was banned from Home Depot. He was arrested and booked into jail for first-degree criminal trespass. He was later released.

Kitsap Mall security called police shortly after 1:30 p.m. March 21 for an unwanted person at the mall. A deputy arrived and found an 18-year-old Port Orchard man dressed in green camouflage standing with a mall security guard.

The security guard said the man was harassing two off-duty Marines. He reportedly approached them and started calling them “baby killers.” Kitsap Mall security interfered and escorted the man to the bust stop at the west entrance of the mall. The man told security that he was a member of the Washington State Volunteer Militia and works for the Washington State Patrol and refused to be banned by mall security.

The man told the deputy that he was talking to the Marines and could not believe they didn’t know about the history of the militia and became agitated. He admitted he did not work for Washington State Patrol, but did want mall security to call state patrol because he had many friends in the agency.

The man was banned from Kitsap Mall and left the area.
