Poulsbo Police arrested a 21-year-old Bremerton man suspected of stabbing his 48-year-old friend in the Poulsbo Wal-Mart parking lot Aug. 16.

The victim, also of Bremerton, was transported to Harrison Medical Center where he was treated and released.

Police were called after the two men got into an argument in the parking lot at 11:20 p.m. The dispute escalated and the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim several times in the torso with a “cutting implement.”

The suspect then got into the victim’s Chevrolet Cavalier and attempted to leave the scene. He abandoned the car and was trying to flee on foot when he was arrested by police.

The suspect was booked into Kitsap County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and first-degree robbery, both felony charges. Bail was set at $100,000.

Just enjoying

Sheriff’s deputies and medics responded to the 8800 block of Central Valley Road NE in East Bremerton at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 15 for an unresponsive teenager sitting on the ground beside a water pump building.

Medics checked out the 15-year-old Poulsbo boy and said he was under the influence of something and out of it.

Both deputies tried to talk to the teen who would pretend he was asleep. The teen repeatedly gave deputies false names when he wasn’t faking sleep.

Deputies found a bag of unused needles and a cigarette container that had lip balm, a small piece of foam, a glass pipe and two small plastic bags with what appeared to be tobacco residue and white residue inside.

It appeared the teen had been lacing the tobacco with amphetamines prior to smoking it with the glass pipe, according to a deputy’s report.

The teen became physical and repeatedly yelled and cursed at the deputies. The next minute, he was quiet and started crying.

When a deputy asked the teen what he was doing, he said he was just “getting high and enjoying the day.”

He was arrested and booked into juvenile detention for possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing.

Gambling with company dough

The assistant manager of Sbarro Restaurant in Kitsap Mall stole more than $2,500 from the company and gambled it away at a casino.

The 29-year-old Bremerton woman took three nights’ worth of deposits to a casino instead of the bank and lost all of the money.

The store manager learned of the missing deposits and the woman admitted she neglected to make the deposits Aug. 6 and 7 and took the money to a casino. She promised to pay the company back.

The woman then used deposit money from Aug. 8 and 9 to repay the money she lost on Aug. 6 and 7. On Aug. 10, she took the night’s deposit back to the casino and again lost the money.

The Sbarro district manager called police to report the thefts after the woman failed to show up for work two days in a row.

Deputies contacted the woman who said she just came from the restaurant and was trying to work out a payment plan to repay the company. She said she didn’t plan on keeping the money, but just wanted to use it to make money at the casino.

The money lost totaled more than $2,600. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review/filing of charges.
