Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call regarding an assault in the East Bremerton Wal-Mart parking lot around 6 p.m. Feb. 2.

A witness said he was leaving the store when he saw a black car stop and two females get out and accuse a woman of hitting their car with her shopping bag. He said the suspects got the woman on the ground and proceeded to hit and kick her repeatedly.

The victim, a 33-year-old Silverdale woman, said she and her two sons were walking out of the store into the Wal-Mart parking lot when the black car just barely missed striking her children. She became angry and “slapped the back corner of the car with her shopping bag.”

The victim said two women jumped out of the car yelling and screaming at her. She told them they almost hit her children and one woman jabbed her in the face with her fingernail. The victim said the women then took her to the ground and began hitting and kicking her.

One of the suspects, a 27-year-old Bremerton woman, told a deputy the victim hit her first when she got out of the car to check for damages.

The 27-year-old woman and her 28-year-old sister, also of Bremerton, were arrested and booked into jail for fourth-degree assault. They were later released.

Prowlers

on the loose

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Tracyton boat ramp for a possible prowler call around 11 p.m. Feb. 1. The reporting person said people have been prowling his neighborhood lately and he just saw two men in his yard.

Deputies arrived and found a red-colored car parked at the boat ramp occupied by two people. The man and woman said they didn’t have identification on them. The woman gave the deputy her name and the man gave a false name and date of birth.

The deputy later discovered the 25-year-old Bremerton man had an outstanding warrant. The man was placed in handcuffs and the deputy searched the vehicle. He found a glass bong and a vial with some sort of strange substance inside.

The man was arrested and booked into jail for providing a false/misleading statement to a public servant and a warrant. His bail is set at $2,500.

The spittin’, screamin’, kickin’ runaway

A sheriff’s deputy spotted a reported runaway teenager walking by Michaels in Silverdale around 6:30 p.m. Feb. 8.

He said the 17-year-old Port Orchard girl’s name aloud and she stopped and looked, but then starting yelling that she wasn’t who he was looking for.

The deputy detained the teen who tried to pull away and screamed that she wasn’t a runaway. The deputy asked if she’d been drinking alcohol and the teen said she was 21 years old and had been drinking.

Other deputies arrived and helped place the teen into a patrol car. She began kicking a rear door and tried to kick out a rear window. When the deputy opened the door, she tried to kick him.

The deputies placed the teen in restraints inside the vehicle and she continued to yell and curse. She spit in a deputy’s face, hitting both of his eyes, and tried to spit on another deputy, but he quickly shut the door.

The teen was placed in a protective helmet in case she hit her head on the windows. During the ride to juvenile detention, she banged her head on the window, screamed and cursed.

The teen was booked into juvenile detention for third-degree assault (upon law enforcement) and for being a minor exhibiting the effects of consuming alcohol.
