A sheriff’s deputy responded to a call regarding a domestic violence situation in the 2100 block of East 31st Street in East Bremerton around 12:30 p.m. Feb. 24.
A 29-year-old woman said her 30-year-old boyfriend “choke slammed” her and threw her outside with little clothing on. She said it all started when the couple began arguing about him not wanting to sleep in the same bed as her the night before.
He said they did sleep in separate rooms the night before because he didn’t want to “deal with” her. He asked her to go home that morning.
They began arguing and he dragged her out of the house.
A short time later, the woman threw two rocks through the man’s front window. When he went outside, she was running down the street. He asked her to come back because he didn’t want the embarrassment of having his neighbors witness what was happening.
The woman didn’t come back and the man put the woman’s chihuahua down in the driveway and it ran off down the street.
The man was arrested and booked into jail for fourth-degree assault. The woman was arrested and booked into jail for second-degree malicious mischief. Both were later released.
The dog was found on Perry Avenue near East 31st Street and the woman’s brother took it home.
Where’s my money?
A sheriff’s deputy responded to a call regarding shots fired from a handgun at the 19th Hole Tavern in the 2100 block of Erlands Point NW in Central Kitsap. The suspect reportedly left eastbound on Erlands Point in a vehicle.
19th Hole employees told the deputy a large group entered the bar at 1:15 a.m. They said they looked liked trouble, so they made last call for drinks. The group stayed for about 20 minutes, then left. When they left, there was a confrontation in the parking lot. One of the men in the group won a $20 bet with another man. The loser of the bet only had $17 to pay off the bet. The winner got upset, threw a glass beer bottle at him and started hitting him.
Another man who wasn’t involved in the fight pulled out a handgun and fired one shot in the air. The fight broke up and everyone ran in different directions.
No arrests were made.
