The Port Orchard City Council needed just 75 minutes to pass all items on its Oct. 8 meeting.

During the meeting, the council approved a contract with Kitsap County for jail services. At the Sept. 24 meeting, the council directed staff to contact the county and inform them that the contract should not be retroactive, but should be effective upon both parties signing the agreement.

Under the contract, the city will pay the county $246,470 for 3,250 bed days this year. Also, the daily rate for housing was prorated from January to April at the 2012 rate of $73.68 per day and will be prorated from May through December at the 2013 rate of $77.11.

From Jan. 1 to April 30, the city will pay the county $88,858 for 1,206 bed days — leaving a remainder of 2,044 bed days at the 2013 rate for a total of $157,612.

The daily rate for housing additional prisoners beyond the annual bed bank of 3,250 bed days is $77.11.

The council also approved:

• A resolution declaring certain timber at McCormick Village Park as surplus.

• A contract with the Kitsap County for prosecution services.

• A contract with Martha McMurry for a right-of-way.

• A contract with David Evans and Associations for the 2013-14 Traffic Impact Fee Program Implementation.
