The local Fraternal Order of Eagles hosted its annual Blue/Gold Star Dinner on May 23.
Ken Bicha, Eagles’ event chairperson, said the dinner offered opportunities to visit with families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.
“We can’t image their pain from the loss of your son or daughter, husband or wife, brother or sister, or classmate or friend. However, we can honor them and help keep their memories alive,” Bicha said.
The South Kitsap High School Navy Junior ROTC cadets presented the colors, while the Fathoms o’Fun Royal Court greeted guests.
Port Orchard Mayor Tim Matthes was the keynote speaker.
