A 2.4 percent increase in hangar rental rates will be discussed when the commissioners for the Port of Bremerton meet Tuesday.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the Bill Mahan Conference Room at the Port Administration offices, Bremerton National Airport, 8850 Highway 3, in Bremerton.

On the agenda for action is a resolution that would see hangar and tie-down rates increase by 2.4 percent, which is equal to the consumer price index rate of inflation for the Seattle-Tacoma-Bremerton area.

Small hangers will increase to $220.69 per month; larger hangars will be $338.55 a month. Tie-downs will be $44.42. The port will maintain its $5 a day for daily tie-down rates. There will be no change in the electric rates or landing fees.

The impact to tenants will be $5.17 for those with small hangars and $7.93 for those with large hangars. The tie-down rates increases about $1 per month.

Airport Director Fred Salisbury said the staff had surveyed airport hangar rates in the area which indicated that with these increases, Bremerton will be in the middle range of those airports.

In other matters, commissioners are expected to approve going out for bid on the 2014 Taxiway and Apron improvements Project which is a $2.3 million project of which the FAA will pay 90 percent. The port’s share is $239,850. The project involves repaving Taxiway A and all connecting taxiways, and reconfiguring of Taxiway F.

Commissioners also are expected to take action on a personal services contract for a marina marketing consultant. Bob Wise, of Bainbridge Island, is currently working with the port to market the Bremerton Marina. A summary of the contract was not included with the agenda released on Thursday, but is expected to be released next week.
