POULSBO — The Poulsbo City Council voted unanimously to give Mayor Becky Erickson authority to sign a real estate and lease contract with the Poulsbo Historical Society for a museum to be located in the new city hall.
The Historical Society will purchase a small portion of the building for its museum, which will take up an area of about 1,000 square feet. It will pay $20,000 upfront, as well as monthly installments to a total of $180,000.
The contract also details a zero dollar lease for the society, which will take the place of its current lease of city-owned Jensen Avenue property, which the city plans to sell for about $200,000. The Historical Society originally planned to build its museum on that site.
The contract still awaits a signature from the Historical Society, which will likely occur in the next two months, said Councilman Dale Rudolph, the city’s liaison to the society.
