Poulsbo Middle School principal resigns after 9 years

Emmons will now be principal at Gig Harbor school

Josh Emmons has resigned as principal of Poulsbo Middle School and accepted the same position at Kopachuk Middle School in the Peninsula School District.

The school board approved his resignation June 13. Emmons had been PMS principal for nine years. He previously served as assistant principal at Cedar Heights Junior High in Port Orchard from 2011-15.

“Serving as your principal has been an incredible honor and a deeply rewarding experience,” Emmons wrote in a letter to PMS families.

North Kitsap School District has posted the open PMS principal position and is accepting applications, communications coordinator Jenn Markaryan said. “The district is putting an interview team together, and the school will hold an evening event for the community to meet the finalists” later on.
