A 25-year-old Poulsbo man arrested Sunday for aiming a gun at his fiancee had recently returned from a 15-month National Guard deployment in Iraq.
Deputies were called to the residence on the 13400 block of Lakeview Avenue NW early Sunday morning after the woman, 25, called 911 to report the disturbance.
The woman told deputies her fiance had returned from Iraq three weeks ago, has been drinking heavily and has a “very bad temper,” reports said.
“I asked her if he was like this before and she said no,” the deputy wrote.
The woman told the deputy that the man had grabbed her and held her against a wall, and that last week the man pointed a gun at her and had said, “I’m going to murder somebody tonight,” reports said. The woman said the suspect kept the gun loaded.
The suspect had left the residence but was located by deputies about 45 minutes later. After being arrested, the man told deputies that he had returned from Iraq to find his fiancee was seeing another man.
The suspect was booked into jail for investigation of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful imprisonment.
