After Oct. 31, Kitsap Transit will no longer issue paper transfers to bus passengers. Starting Nov. 1, riders paying cash will need to pay a fare each time they get on a bus or ferry.
To take advantage of the two-hour window for transfers, passengers will need to get an ORCA card. When paying when an ORCA card, a free two-hour window is included, and transfers are good in any direction of travel at any location.
Get an ORCA card at Kitsap Transit’s Customer Service Office, online here, by phone at 1-888-988-6722 or by mail. There is no fee for the card through January 31.
Get an ORCA card and load a minimum of $5 cash transportation value into the “E-purse” on the card. When you tap the card on the reader on the bus or foot ferry the correct fare is deducted and other Kitsap Transit vehicles recognize a free transfer for two hours.
Riders who qualify for Reduced Fare must get their ORCA card at Kitsap Transit’s Customer Service Office.
