In one of his first acts as Port Orchard’s mayor, Tim Matthes appointed former City Councilman Rick Wyatt to the city’s planning commission.
Wyatt’s appointment to the eight-member advisory board was unanimously approved by the City Council Tuesday night at the first meeting of the new year.
Wyatt has previously served five years on the planning commission and 12 years on the City Council, and was appointed to fill the seat left vacant when Matthes became mayor.
Wyatt joins Dee Coppola, former Mayor Lary Coppola’s wife, and Robert Baglio as the three newest members on the planning commission.
