Road work ahead: July 2-6

Some Kitsap County roadways will be under construction or repair during the week and beyond.

PORT ORCHARD — Some roadways in Kitsap County will be impacted by construction and repair work during the upcoming week — July 2-6.

Here are the affected roads:

South Kitsap

Road maintenance crews are doing general road maintenance at several locations in South Kitsap. Flaggers are directing motorists around the work. Short delays of less than five minutes are expected in the immediate vicinity of the work.

  • Crews are working on shoulder maintenance along Southwest Berry Lake Road Monday and Tuesday. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work areas. Delays of five to 10 minutes are expected.
  • Crews are working on side approaches on California Avenue East Monday and Tuesday. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work areas. Delays of five to 10 minutes are expected.
  • Crews are working on side approaches on Mullenix Road Southeast between Phillips and Olalla Valley Thursday and Friday. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work areas. Delays of five to 10 minutes are expected.
  • A portion of Colchester Drive Southeast, between Yukon Harbor Road Southeast and Miracle Mile Drive East, is closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while a new sewer conveyance system is constructed. Local residents are able to access their property during the closure but can expect delays in doing so. A detour route is in place.

Central Kitsap

  • A portion of Tracyton Boulevard Northwest temporarily closes to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic Monday. The portion that closes is about 150 feet, between Darling Road Northwest and Silver Beach Drive. A detour is in place using Fairgrounds and Stampede Boulevard. Use alternate routes or expect delays. Unrestricted access through the area will be restored during the Kitsap County Fair and Stampede. Work continues through September.
  • Northeast Electric begins work Monday on a project to install a new traffic signal at the intersection of Northwest Newberry Hill Road and Tieton Place Northwest. Work begins Monday and is expected to take 60 days to complete. Expect short delays in the immediate vicinity of the work.
  • Crews are paving Northwest Newberry Hill Road between Provost and Dickey Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Flaggers direct motorists through the work area. Expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
  • Construction continues on Silverdale Way Northwest from 600 feet south of Byron to Anderson Hill Road. Expect intermittent delays in the immediate vicinity of the work. Flaggers direct motorists through the work area. All businesses are open during construction but expect some delay. Plan ahead or find alternate routes to minimize inconveniences.
  • Expect moderate delays of five to 10 minutes on Ridgetop Boulevard Northwest between SR 303 and Quail Run Drive as work continues on an improvement project there. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work area.

North Kitsap

  • A contractor is constructing shoulder and sidewalk improvements on Suquamish Way Northeast. Short delays of about five minutes are expected. Portions of the roadway are gravel during this work. Work on this project continues through June.
  • Johnson Way Northeast and Peterson Way Northeast — These roads are closed from June 18 to July 3 for a utility project to replace a flow meeting located in the right-of-way.
  • Washington Boulevard Northeast has a 10,000-pound weight limit in effect. Portions of the road surface are gravel.

City of Port Orchard construction updates

  • Tremont Construction — The City of Port Orchard is making improvements to the Tremont Street corridor.
