Although it is soon to be January, Rotarians are busy planning their annual benefit golf tournament, slated for June 21 at White Horse Golf Club. Breane Martinez and Karen Gibson serve as co-chairs of the tournament, which is Kingston Rotary’s major fundraiser.

The tournament earned $27,000 last year, and Rotarians set a goal to raise more than $30,000 from this year’s tournament. Proceeds from the tournament support local community projects.

Golfers will need to register early this year, since last year’s tourney was a sell-out. The tournament offers a fun day at the gorgeous White Horse Golf Club. Greens fees, cart rental, range balls, box lunch and awards dinner are all included in the $150 registration fee.

Kingston Rotarians are busy signing up sponsors and securing prizes for the tournament. There will be a silent auction that takes place during the awards dinner, featuring some pretty incredible packages and prizes.

New Rotary leadership
New leaders for Kingston Rotary have been elected. Don Hutchins’ term as president lasts until June 30.

Stepping up to lead the club beginning in July will be Meisha Rouser. Her career has been a rich mosaic of leadership development, marketing, program and product management, business development, public relations, organization development, coaching and training.

Meisha started or played a major role in a number of startup organizations, as well as working for large corporate organizations. Her undergraduate degree is in management information systems, and she recently completed a master’s degree in organization psychology.

Meisha’s future endeavors, besides leading the Kingston-North Kitsap Rotary Club, include more research and development of theories and methodologies related to organizational behavior, leadership, and work/life balance.

Joining Meisha will be the following slate of officers: Vice President Randy Monlux, Secretary Suzanne Jenny, and Treasurer Jerry Tellingheusen. With this capable leadership, Rotary should be off to a fine year. Join us for lunch, and meet our officers and membership. New members are always welcome to the Wednesday luncheon meetings at the North Kitsap Fire Station, 26642 Miller Bay Road NE, Kingston.
