Kingston–North Kitsap Rotary Club is fortunate to have a great leadership team recently installed into office.

The club president, Clint Boxman, who just turned 30, is the youngest person to serve as president of Kingston Rotary. Clint brings lots of fresh energy and ideas to the club and has rallied Rotarians to consider new projects and events to serve Kingston and the North End communities.

Prior to his term as president, Clint served for several years as chairman of  community services. Clint is a financial adviser with Edward Jones.

The club’s vice president is Randy Monlux. Randy was recently honored as Rotarian of the Year and rode in the official Rotary car in the Kingston 4th of July parade.

Randy and his wife, Eva, are once again leading Kingston Rotary to new heights at this summer’s Saturday night Concerts on the Cove. With the assistance of a major portion of our little club’s membership, but with leadership and dedication way beyond expectations, these two are doing a fabulous job of fundraising for the civic projects that Rotary supports. As Randy says, “Where else can you listen to a great concert, buy a beer, and get a make-up credit for missing a meeting?” Randy and Eva are owners of our local Stanley Steemer.

Outgoing president Fredrick Branchflower chose Rae Mowery, one of the most active and distinguished members of Kingston Rotary, as the recipient of his President’s Service Award for 2010-11. Every Rotarian in the club is familiar with Rae’s ongoing, remarkably able and dedicated service to Rotary, which in fact began many years before the founding of our present club. Rae is certainly one of the most admired of our Rotarians and the one we most want to emulate!

Also part of this stellar group of leaders is our president for 2012, Don Hutchins. Don is the newsletter editor for the club and very active with the group, which will build the new picnic pavilion at Village Green Park. He is on the board of the Village Green Foundation and has been working with Dave Wetter, Matt House and Jon Sole on the planning for the picnic pavilion.

Rotary’s current emphasis for this year is on increasing membership. As President Boxman says, “It seems everywhere I turn I see something that our Rotary Club can do to help out our community — from cleaning up trash along State Route 104 to continuing our push to help Feed the Kids this summer and beyond. The problem is we can’t do it all. In fact, there is only so much we can do at this point unless we grow as a club. Our community is filled with great people, great minds, great resources and great talents. They need to know that they are welcome to join our club.”

Kingston’s Rotary Club is a small group of 32 committed individuals who believe in “Service Above Self” for the betterment of the community and the world. Internationally, Rotarians support the eradication of polio worldwide. In our community, our fundraising is dedicated to SPARK — Schools and Parks ARound Kingston.

Join us at a meeting, Wednesday at noon in the Kingston Cove Yacht Club, to learn more about our club. Or email fbranchflower@comcast.net.
