There were 162 write-ins, representing an additional 0.29 percent of the total 55,298 votes counted so far.

These totals represent initial results from all 189 of the county’s precincts.

Updates to the election results will be added to the county auditor’s Website at around 5 p.m. each evening, until the election results are finalized.

Voter’s ballots must have post marks of Nov. 2 or earlier to be valid, but the county auditor’s office will continue counting the ballots until Nov. 22, when the last of the military ballots arrive.

In final results from the primary, Danielson lost, with a total of 24,376 votes or 43.73 percent of the votes cast. Hauge claimed 31,094 or 55.78 percent, and there were 274 write-ins, representing 0.49 percent of the total 55,744 votes cast.

Danielson is encouraged with the ground he gained since the primaries.

“I think it’s a good showing,” he said. “I think it shows that there is quite a bit of discontent with (Hauge’s) office.

“We will wait to see what the ultimate results are.”

Hauge declined to comment about the initial election results.
