Student heads to National History Day competition
Sean Brislin, a sixth-grade student at Kingston Middle School, will travel to Washington, D.C., June 15 to observe the National History Day competition. Brislin and fellow KMS students Nick Woltersdorf and Dietrich Hanson were named as alternates to the national competition after placing third in the state competition for designing a Web page called Henry Ford: The Man Who Put the World on Wheels. Two Kingston students honored
The Kingston Athletic Booster Club awarded Rachel Bishop and Alex VanDeen each a $1,000 scholarship toward the college of their choice. The recipients were chosen based on grade point average, athletic participation and outstanding citizenship within the high school and the Kingston community.
Local students graduate from Gonzaga
The following students from the North Kitsap region graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane May 10. Erin Gallagher of Poulsbo graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Mallory Ferland of Suquamish received a bachelor’s in history and graduated cum laude. Michael Popp of Poulsbo graduated with a bachelor’s in business administration. Daniel Yee of Poulsbo received a bachelor of science in chemistry.
“Go West” with Poulsbo Elementary
The fourth grade classes of Poulsbo Elementary School will perform an end-of-year musical entitled Go West! Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the school gym. The play is a musical rendition of the events, people and innovations that contributed to the westward expansion of the United States.
M&M Kids’ Club taking registrations
The M&M Kids’ Club is now taking registrations for its upcoming summer camp. Teachers and support staff have put together a range of activities and field trips for children, from beach exploration to swimming to creative activities like art, music and drama.
