Two more PLC meetings planned

The North Kitsap School District will host two public meetings to provide additional information about Professional Learning Communities. The meetings will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. Aug. 25 and Sept. 2 in the Board Room at the Student Support Services Building at 18360 Caldart Ave. in Poulsbo. Locals graduate from SPU

Five local students graduated from Seattle Pacific University in Seattle. Jennifer Holbrook of Kingston graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. Ethan Bratt of Poulsbo received a master’s in marriage and family therapy; Shannon T. Horner received a master’s in nursing; Katherine Moore graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s in nursing and a bachelor of arts in European studies, French; and Natalie Selden received a bachelor’s in English, with an emphasis on literature.

Scholarship Golf Tourney on the way

The North Kitsap/Kingston High School Scholarship Golf Tournament will take place at 1 p.m. Sept. 12 at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton. Cost is $125 and includes cart, dinner, trophies, raffles and door prizes. Money raised at the tournament is used to fund scholarships through the North Kitsap Schools Foundation. Olympic College interviewing culinary arts students

The culinary arts program at Olympic College in Bremerton is interviewing students interested in upcoming fall courses, which begin Sept. 21. The program is nationally accredited and taught by certified chefs with extensive industry experience. Navy Band Northwest offers free concert today

Children’s Garden hosts Montessori Mornings

Children’s Garden Montessori School of Poulsbo is offering a free introduction to montessori classroom activities for preschoolers and parents Sept. 3 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the school.
