VECA Electric, one of the region’s largest electrical contracting firms, recently announced it has acquired Bremerton-based electrical contracting firm Rohwein Electric.

VECA added the entire Rohwein Electric team, creating VECA’s new Rohwein Electric division, according to VECA Electric.

“Adding Rohwein Electric to our team will allow VECA to expand our electrical, communications and wireless services on a broad range of industrial, commercial and military projects in Kitsap County,” VECA CEO Tom Fairbanks stated in a news release. “We are pleased to partner with a firm that shares VECA’s values and commitment to providing quality services to customers.”

Founded in 1972, Rohwein Electric has experience in the government, commercial and industrial sectors, specifically new construction, remodel and maintenance work related to military system upgrades. As a result of the acquisition, VECA Electric will pick up new clients including Fort Lewis, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Keyport and Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor, Naval Ammunition Depot Indian Island, Harrison Medical Center, city of Bremerton and Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. VECA will maintain the location of Rohwein’s Bremerton office.

“Rohwein is a recognized leader for providing superior electrical services in Kitsap County. This partnership provides an opportunity to continue Rohwein’s growth in the Kitsap Peninsula and beyond,” VECA President Brian Westerlund stated.

VECA will bring Rohwein project manager Jodee Strickland and Rohwein’s 12 technical and office professionals onboard. VECA also hired Shaun Hall as a project manager to join Rohwein Electric’s Bremerton office.

VECA Electric’s first job on the Kitsap Peninsula is a medical office building.
