A security exercise will be begin at Naval Base Kitsap Bangor at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, and end at Camp Wesley Harris, off of Seabeck Highway, at 12:30 p.m.

The purpose of the exercise is to allow personnel to share and develop security procedures to ensure the safety and security of U.S. military resources.

According to the Navy, exercises such as this one are conducted in realistic environments under realistic circumstances to ensure forces maintain the highest levels of proficiency and readiness. Tenant commands and local residents may see and hear exercise activity, which will include the use of helicopters at Camp Wesley Harris, military armored vehicles and blank ammunition. Live ammunition will not be used.

A slight inconvenience may occur when Washington State Patrol halts Seabeck Highway traffic to momentarily allow personnel to cross the highway to continue their exercise training.
