POULSBO — A reception for friends and family of Jack Webb has been scheduled, and those who knew the retired Navy man and community volunteer are invited to attend.
Webb, 79, died July 25 of blood cancer, leaving behind a legacy of neighborhood involvement.
A reception is planned for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16 at the Poulsbo Fire Department at 911 NE Liberty Road, said Webb’s widow, Sarah “Kee” Webb.
Jack Webb had served as a commissioner for the fire district.
Before serving a second career as a community volunteer, Webb spent 30 years in the Navy working aboard submarines and submarine tenders, rising from the rank of seaman to retire as a commander.
A full military internment is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14 at 1:15 p.m. The service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington.
