Lavern "3rd" Tom III passed away on Jan. 15, 2011 at his home in Kingston, Wash. He was born on April 3, 1985 in Toppenish, Wash., to Lavern Tom Jr. and Tracy Clarke. He was raised by his father and stepmother, Leanne Tom.

Lavern “3rd” Tom III passed away on Jan. 15, 2011 at his home in Kingston, Wash. He was 25.

He was born on April 3, 1985 in Toppenish, Wash., to Lavern Tom Jr. and Tracy Clarke. He was raised by his father and stepmother, Leanne Tom.

“3rd” enjoyed cooking and eating barbecue with his Dad, Mother and family. He also enjoyed music, video games and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Joanne; father, Lavern; mother, Leanne; brother, Joe; sisters, Ramona, Kiara, LaVonne; and many uncles, aunties and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, LaVern Tom Sr.; and his aunt, Tawyna Tom.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Jan. 20, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the Port Gamble Tribal Gym in Kingston. Interment at the tribal cemetery. A reception will follow.
