The Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management will be activating the county’s Severe Weather Shelter Plan due to warnings of cold and snowy weather conditions.

The shelter will open at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 at “The Communitas Building,” 920 Park Ave. Bremerton. This shelter will serve all citizens in the area who require safe overnight shelter where none is available.

Hours of operation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. Once the shelter has closed (at 9 p.m.) for the night, no one will be allowed back in.

Continued activation of the County’s Severe Weather Shelter Plan is contingent upon future weather predictions.
