Severe weather shelters open Monday; temperatures expected to rise this week

POULSBO — Severe weather shelters will open Monday in Poulsbo and Bremerton.

Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing again Monday night, according to the National Weather Service. The Weather Service predicts overnight lows will rise into the 40s beginning Tuesday. Rain will also return to the forecast beginning Tuesday night.

A severe weather shelter at First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo, 18920 4th Avenue Northeast, will be open from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, according to a release from the Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management. Guests will not be able to check in after 9 p.m.

Two shelters will also open in Bremerton. A shelter for teens will open at the Coffee Oasis, 822 Burwell St. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 700 Callahan Ave., will host an all-ages shelter.
