Shirley J. Kenbok, born on April 23, 1932, in Pasco died April 9. She was 76.
A graduate of Lincoln High School in Seattle, her life with Papa Dick was a celebration of family, travel, and love. She and Papa were known to have danced the night away as they tended bar at the Y Tavern in the 50s and 60s. They went on to travel the Puget Sound in their boat the Seaducer and the state in their motor home, always with grandchildren in tow.
She was a volunteer at the Bayside Church in Kingston.
Kenbok was preceded in death by her soul mate and husband, Richard “Dick” Kenbok. She is survived by her sons, Dan and Steve; daughters-in-law Margaret, Ky and Tina; sister-in-law, Vicki; grandchildren Steve, Karen, Ryan, Alex, Derek, Ben, Delaney and Jessica; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. April 18 the Bayside Church in Kingston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kitsap Hospice Care Center in Bremerton.
