Shrek the Musical coming to Silverdale

CSTOCK's next performance during their 30th anniversary season is going to be Shrek the Musical.

Central Stage Theater of County Kitsap (CSTOCK) has chosen its next production: Shrek the Musical. The show, helping to celebrate CSTOCK’s 30th anniversary season, will open Nov. 27.

All performances will be held at the Central Kitsap Middle School (formerly the CK Junior High) located at 10130 Frontier Pl NW, Silverdale, WA 98383.  CSTOCK’s Shrek is directed by Linda Jensen, with music direction by Stuart Logan and vocal direction by Charles Platten (educators at CK Middle School) and choreography by Ryan Posey.

Shrek is based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks film that started it all and brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage.

In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a villain with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and more than a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero.

Shrek is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone, featuring a terrific score of 19 all-new songs, big laughs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery.

CSTOCK’s production of Shrek stars Corey Suraci as Shrek, Elizabeth Dangelo as Princess Fiona, Issac Ettobi as Donkey, Charles Platten as Lord Farquaad and Rebecca Brown as Dragon.

An army of characters help Shrek along his journey, including McCarrey Wiseman (Pinocchio), Sara Dawson (Gingy), Aspyn Schuster (young Fiona), Sydney Hutto (teen Fiona), Amanda Pugh (Queen Lillian), Brian George (Papa Ogre), Tess Updegrove (Mama Ogre), Randy Wiseman (Kind Harold), Brittany Maddox (Mama Bear), Mykahla George (Performer MC), Ryan Snyder (Baby Bear), Jeremie Sandbeck (Grumpy), Karen Reeves (Fairy Godmother), Hanna Hoskins (Humpty Dumpty), Molly Tout (Mad Hatter), Jasmine San Juan (Peter Pan), Marcosa Opulencia (Pied Piper), Alanna Bolon (Sugar Plum Fairy), Ailish Watson (Ugly Duckling), Clara Gintz (White Rabbit), Giana Pasek (Witch), Isabelle Bolon (young Shrek), Emma Kuralt (Wolf), Amaya Saunders (Thelonius), Johnny Felty (Captain Guard), Sydney Edwards (Elf), Dale Durham and Ania Briggs (as Knights), Caleb Lizon (Greeter), Chloe VanVuren and Maelini Whitehorse (as blind mice and little pigs) and, last but not least, Riley Dawson to help round out the ensemble.

The creative team includes, Sherry Knox and Greg Williams (Set Design & Construction), Dale Borer (LightDesign), Shelly Eaquinta (Assistant to the Director), Tim Sargent (Assistant Stage Manager) and Heather McClellan and Josh Hopp (Producers).

Opening night for Shrek is Friday, Nov. 27 with additional performance on Nov. 28 and 29, and December 4-6, 11-13 and 18-20.
