Home improvement store may open for business in early December.
Silverdale’s newest home improvement store may be open for business soon as construction crews are putting the finishing touches on the store.
Lowe’s spokeswoman Maureen Rich said there is no confirmed opening date, but the home improvement store is scheduled to be open before the year’s end.
“We are aiming to open in early December,” Rich said.
The 102,000-square-foot store is located at the southeast quadrant of Myhre Road and Mickelberry Road in Silverdale behind Costco.
Construction began in the spring and crews are quickly wrapping up so the store can open by the end of the year.
The do-it-yourself retailer will offer more than 32,000 products under one roof.
“Lowe’s is always evaluating new sites” and looks at hundreds of factors, including the potential for growth and homeownership, when selecting new store locations, Rich said.
“Certainly in Silverdale we see a great potential for growth and that was one factor of hundreds we considered in expanding,” Rich said in the spring when Lowe’s announced its plan to open a Silverdale store.
Lowe’s is known for “helping homeowners find the right equipment and supplies to build, improve, beautify and enjoy their homes,” according to the company. The Silverdale store will feature a 28,700-square-foot garden center with a selection of flowers, bushes, trees and garden supplies tailored to Washington’s climate and lifestyle.
