SILVERDALE – Customers sampled wine and meandered through dozens of aisles full of a dazzling selection of liquor, wine and beer during Total Wine & More’s grand opening at The Trails at Silverdale March 10.
The gymnasium-sized retail store features about 8,000 wines, 3,000 spirits and 2,500 beers. Grand opening festivities included wine tasting samples from Caymus, Camaraderie Cellars, River Road, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Heritage Distilling, Jack Daniel’s, Woodford Reserve, Silver City Brewery and more.
“We’re incredibly excited to be in the area,” said store manager Chuck West, who was busy working at a computer in the rear of the store that evening.
West said some customers traveled as far as 30 miles to visit the store. Local products would be a feature at the location, West said.
“24 percent of my store is Washington – Washington wines, Washington spirits … we like to bring in the ‘small dogs,’” he said.
One example West cited was Bainbridge Organic Distillers organic vanilla vodka.
The store also held a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 9. Kitsap County Commissioner Ed Wolfe, Jasmine Medina, who is Miss Silverdale 2016, and others were present for that event.
