PORT ORCHARD — The South Kitsap Wolf Pack Invitational Crew Regatta, a success in its inaugural run last year, is back again at Sinclair Inlet on Saturday, May 26.
The event, presented by Fathoms O’ Fun and sponsored by Windermere Real Estate, will start at 2:30 p.m. Spectators can watch the race at the Port Orchard Marina, according to sponsors.
Competing against the South Kitsap High Wolf Pack crew team will be the Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association from Port Townsend. South Kitsap is the only high school in the state — and perhaps the Pacific Northwest — to have a crew team, said Sharron King, chairwoman of Fathoms O’ Fun Festival.
The races will include varsity four-man and eight-man teams, as well as a novice eight-man team, for a total of six races.
An awards ceremony will take place at the conclusion of the race at the Port of Bremerton bleacher area. In addition, there will be a new boat christening of the Ignis (Latin for “fire”) near the Soroptimist Overlook area, organizers said.
More information can be found on the rowing team’s Facebook and Instagram sites.
