South Kitsap Fire and Rescue firefighters and medical emergency units responded to a house fire in South Kitsap.
Battalion Chief Jon Gudmundsen reported about 7 p.m. June 5 crews were dispatched to a residential fire in the 2700 block of Tucci Place.
Gudmundsen stated when the first units arrived that smoke was coming from the house and the occupants had already evacuated.
Crews entered the house to find heavy smoke and heat damage in the upstairs area and quickly extinguished the fire. The damage was contained to the top floor of the structure.
Kitsap County Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the fire and is yet to determine the cause.
Gudmundsen said the occupants will stay with family in the area since the living area of the house was damaged.
No civilians or firefighters were injured at the fire.
