POULSBO — Kitsap Transit is implementing a Limited Route System effective with the start of service Wednesday morning, because of unsafe road conditions that could result from snowfall late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
Buses should depart from the transfer centers or park and ride lots at their current times. Under the most severe weather conditions, Kitsap Transit may suspend bus service completely.
In North Kitsap
— The No. 32 Poulsbo/Silverdale will operate between the Silverdale Transfer Center and the Poulsbo Transfer Center traveling Greaves Way to Highway 3 to Highway 305. The bus will not serve the Olympic College area or downtown Poulsbo.
— The No. 90 Poulsbo/Bainbridge will operate its normal bus route between the Poulsbo Transfer Center and the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal. A north end bus will travel between George’s Corner Park & Ride and the Bainbridge Island Ferry using Bond Road and Highway 305. It will operate to and from George’s Corner at the times the No. 91 would normally operate. There will be no service to Kingston or Suquamish.
In Central and South Kitsap
— The No. 11 Crosstown Limited will operate its normal route on trips between the East Bremerton Transfer Center and the Bremerton Transportation Center by using Warren, Burwell and Pacific both ways. On trips leaving downtown for West Bremerton, the bus will use Washington to 11th to Pacific and continue on 6th instead of 11th to Kitsap Way. Returning to downtown from West Bremerton the bus will again use 6th instead of 11th and Warren instead of Pacific. The bus will make all stops.
— The No. 12 Silverdale West will operate between the West Bremerton Transfer Center and the Silverdale Transfer Center using Highway 3, Austin Drive, Erlands Point and Chico Way. It will not serve Jackson Park, the Naval Hospital or Northlake Way.
— The No. 17 Silverdale East will travel Highway 303 and Waaga Way between the East Bremerton Transfer Center and the Silverdale Transfer Center. It will not serve Pine Road or Kitsap Mental Health. The bus will make all stops.
— A Southworth Parking Shuttle will operate only between the Harper Church Park & Ride and the Southworth Ferry.
A combination Port Orchard Loop route will be operated. The bus will travel the No. 5 snow route up the hill to Sidney. It will then travel Tremont to Pottery, and then to Lippert back to Sidney to Tremont to Lund. From Lund the bus will travel to Madrona to Mile Hill via Village Lane, onto Bethel and then return to the Port Orchard Ferry Terminal.
— The Kitsap Transit foot ferry will operate as normally scheduled to connect Bremerton and Port Orchard, and Bremerton and Annapolis. If the shipyard opens two hours late, the Annapolis ferry will extend two hours.
