Social Security Workshop set for June 6

Social Security Administration official will speak at United Way Conference Center

United Way of Kitsap County will host a Social Security Workshop from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 6 in the United Way Conference Center.

Kirk Larson, Western Washington Public Affairs Specialist for the Social Security Administration, will speak. He has worked with the agency for more than 20 years in both technical and managerial roles.

Larson has presented Social Security information in both the Seattle and San Francisco Regions. He has had several articles published and has appeared on TV and radio shows to discuss various Social Security issues.

The Social Security Administration and other federal government organizations have recognized him for his outstanding public service. He has a degree in business administration from California Polytechnic University at Pomona.

In addition to his work with the federal government, he is a small business owner.

“United Way is sponsoring this workshop because we know that many people have questions about Social Security,” said David Foote, Executive Director of United Way. “We also believe that many organizations also get questions about Social Security from clients and we hope that this will help them serve those clients and help answer Social Security questions.”
