PORT ORCHARD — The women of Soroptimist International of Port Orchard are seeking applicants for their annual Live Your Dream Award.

“Live Your Dream” is the signature educational program of Soroptimist International of the Americas. Bobbie Weatherill, a spokeswoman for the Port Orchard organization, said the purpose of the program is to assist women who are the primary source of financial support for their families, and who wish to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.

It is a cash award that can be used to purchase books, pay for child care or transportation, for tuition or whatever is necessary to help support the woman in her pursuit of advanced education.

Eligible applicants must be enrolled in, or have been accepted, to a vocational/technical skills training program or an undergraduate degree program, and must demonstrate financial need.

Applications must be received by the Nov. 15 deadline. Soroptimist is an international business and professional women’s volunteer service organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in their communities and around the world.
