South Kitsap deputy among those shot at SK Walmart; Kitsap County officer stopped shooter

Police identified 48-year-old Andrew Paul Ejde, and 50-year-old John Roy Stacy of South Kitsap as the two deputies shot at the South Kitsap Walmart on Sunday at around 3:45 p.m.

Police identified 50-year-old John Roy Stacy of Port Orchard and 48-year-old Andrew Paul Ejde as the two deputies shot at the South Kitsap Walmart on Sunday at around 3:45 p.m.

They identified 38-year-old Krista Rae McDonald as the deputy who shot the gunman.

Stacy has spent 9 years with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, and one year as a reserve deputy with the sheriff’s office.

He graduated, in 1978 from Kingston High School, and from the University of Phoenix with an Associate of Arts Degree in Biomedical Technology in 2000. He served for 20 years in the US Navy, then retired from his job as a Chief Hospital Corpsman.

He received gunshot injury to the right shoulder, and was discharged from the Tacoma General Hospital at approximately 12:30 p.m. Monday.

He’s now recovering at home.

Ejde, the other injured deputy, is still at Tacoma General Hospital, but is expected to be discharged within 48 hours.

He also received gunshot injuries to his left shoulder and right arm.

He’s spent 6.5 years with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, 15 months as a Kitsap County reserve deputy and one year as a deputy with King County Sheriff’s Office.

He graduated, in 1980, from North Kitsap High School, and in 1985 from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Distribution Technology.

His prior employment history includes 2.5 years as a manufacturing engineer with Boeing.

McDonald has spent 10 years with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

She also spent one year as a deputy with with Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, and two years as an officer with Western Washington University Police Department. She graduated, in 1990, from Olympic High School, and Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology in 1994. She’s also worked in loss prevention and retail trades in the private sector. She was uninjured during the shooting at Walmart.
