POULSBO — Most residents around Hostmark Street that lost power because of a blown transformer had power restored by 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Puget Sound Energy’s media office, a squirrel got into a transformer on the line and shorted it out. The transformer’s safety mechanism shut the system down at 1 p.m., and power was restored to all but five customers 45 minutes later.
The transformer will need to be replaced, PSE reported. Remaining customers can expect their power back on about 5 p.m.
