They say everybody is a little Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, and in Bremerton, everybody is welcome in the annual celebration of everything Erin Go Bragh.
Families, children, dogs and anyone wishing to join the spectacle of Bremerton’s 20th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade March 12 are invited.
Bremerton native and famed Seattle rock radio DJ Pat O’Day will be the grand marshal of the event, sponsored by the Bremerton Main Stream Association.
Sign-ups will run from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Fifth Street between Pacific and Park Avenues before the parade begins at 11 a.m. Participants will receive a parade number when they arrive and line up for the procession. The parade begins at the Sixth Street and Pacific Avenue Kitsap Bank and will continue through the ferry tunnel and proceed to Washington Avenue and the Harborside Fountain next to the Kitsap Conference Center. Bicycles, wagons, cars and pets are welcome.
Following the parade near the Kitsap Conference Center will be a color guard performance by the Knights of Columbus and music from the Tacoma Scots Pipe Band.
Cloverleaf Sports Bar and Grill will serve corned beef and cabbage. There will also be a leprechaun display people can stick their heads through for photos. Prizes will be awarded to selected parade participants.
